The Schumacher forwarding company has a flexibly deployable fleet of more than 300 transport units from its own fleet and from that of its contractual and cooperation partners.
As an innovative transport company, the forwarder’s vehicle fleet is always up to date. At all locations there are mainly trucks in use that comply with the environmentally friendly Euro VI emissions standard.
The aerodynamics of the vehicles and trailers also play an important role. Aerodynamic components on the bow, on the sides and below the trailer, as well as the use of modern technology such as mirror cams, bring great savings, regardless of other technological developments and drives.
Modern online monitoring – the latest generation of telematics – is used for all of the new vehicles. This is evaluated precisely and on time using a corresponding IT system. This is used to precisely monitor the temperature range in the trailers on the basis of the preset setpoint. Door contacts can be used to trace at any time whether the loading space has been opened and whether the goods could have been accessed.
Schumacher does not make success dependent on chance: all process parameters are continuously checked. The company places the highest demands on the technical condition of the vehicles and their cleanliness. All vehicles are regularly checked in Schumacher’s own master-run garage. All routine examinations are standard.
For the customer this means: in all process steps – Schumacher security!
Innovative “Green” Logistics
The Schumacher group of companies relies on values such as sustainability and ecology, which is why the topic of “green logistics” is already common practice in our company.
With a modern fleet of the most modern pollutant and emission classes (EURO 6 norm), innovative storage technology and optimally connected logistics locations, we are well prepared for the ecological challenges.
All logistics locations are in the immediate vicinity of the motorway, which guarantees a high level of flexibility, low vehicle use and the resulting fuel savings.
The various components that work together, such as high-quality tires or the optimization of streamlined add-on parts on the semitrailer and trailer, form an aerodynamic configuration specially optimized for trucks and your driving task and thus use the truck’s entire aerodynamic potential.
The use of special refrigerated trailers with an increased interior height and an innovative double-decker loading system allows uninterrupted loading over two levels that can be divided in different heights and thus guarantees an increased loading volume.
The use of innovative, modern devices and vehicles as well as energy-efficient equipment in our warehouse, production and administration areas, such as modern air conditioning, heating and solar systems, enable us to noticeably reduce energy consumption. The new Schumacher headquarters was built according to a german Credit Institute for Reconstruction efficiency house standard (KfW). By implementing energetic construction measures, such as avoiding heat loss through the building envelope, we were able to meet the requirements for the “KfW Efficiency House 55” standard.
The efficient Schumacher logistics save costs and energy, which results in economic and ecological advantages not only for us but also for our customers.
